Jess graduated from The University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy with Honours Class I in 2017. She has worked in the NDIS since 2015, first as a disability support worker, then as an Occupational Therapist.
Jess commenced her occupational therapy career with a non-for-profit organisation providing services to children and their families in the framework of the NDIS. Jess then transitioned to providing occupational therapy services to adolescents, adults, and the elderly in the context of the NDIS and aged care. She has experience working with diverse and complex disabilities and health conditions, including but not limited to neurological, physical, and psychosocial conditions.
Jess also has experience as a multidisciplinary allied health team leader and clinical supervisor. Jess established and managed a multidisciplinary team of 12 allied health clinicians to provide high quality services to participants on the NDIS. In addition, as a clinical supervisor, Jess was responsible for ensuring clinical excellence of junior clinicians.
Jess has experience in providing occupational therapy services across a range of settings, including transitions from inpatient and rehabilitation to the community, forensic, and aged care. She has provided services to participants across varied geographical locations including metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote, both in person and via telehealth. Jess has experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations and is proficient with the use of interpreters to complete assessments.
