Cathy is an experienced and skilled Occupational Therapist with over 20 years’ experience providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention services to people across the lifespan. Her experience includes both inpatient and community-based settings in the public and private sectors.
Cathy has worked with clients with a range of medical conditions, disabilities, and injuries. She has extensive experience as a hospital, rehabilitation, and community-based OT, providing assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation to clients with various presentations. Cathy has experience in respiratory, orthopaedics, neurological, cognition, aged care, chronic disease management, mental health, head injury, general medical/surgical and paediatrics. Her experience in the NDIA independent assessment pilot enhanced her knowledge and skills when working with people who have a disability.
As a clinical OT Cathy has conducted standardised and observational assessments, activities of daily living assessments, recommendations for environmental modifications, prescription of equipment, carer training and client and family education regarding care needs.
In addition to Cathy’s clinical experience, she has worked as a team leader and regional manager for assessment-based services providing mentoring and operational support to those working in the disability and aged care sectors.
Cathy’s clinical experience has enabled her to conduct thorough functional capacity and medico-legal assessments across Queensland and New South Wales. She has provided independent assessments including advice and recommendations in the management of clients who have sustained an illness, injury and/or disability to facilitate independent living.
